‘Integrated Area Planning’ - A community-based approach to decision making

Catherine Corcoran has worked in community and rural development programmes in Ireland and overseas. Her interest in participatory processes became particularly strong while working in Africa with communities that had to develop their own governance systems in the virtual absence of the State. Catherine was a facilitator on a number of Integrated Area Plans and is Rural Development Specialist at Tipperary Institute.
